Join us at the Bethany Village Plaza for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holiday Market!

This event is held each December in the Bethany neighborhood located near downtown Portland and Beaverton, Oregon.

Enjoy live performances, special events, and shop seasonal treats and holiday gifts from local vendors and merchants.

When is the Tree Lighting and Holiday Market?

This year, the Bethany Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market will be held on Tuesday, November 28th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The tree lighting countdown will start right at 5:30 PM, followed by the arrival of Santa Claus, and performances from local students.

The Holiday Market will feature 35+ local vendors and will be open for business for the whole event.

Where is the Tree Lighting and Holiday Market?

This annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Market is held in Bethany Village located at:

4720 NW Bethany Boulevard Portland, OR 97229

The tree lighting countdown will happen at 5:30 PM in the plaza located above the Bethany Village Fountain. Followed by special events – more details coming soon!

Don’t forget to fuel up during the visit! There are sweet treats and food available from various small businesses within Bethany Village.

Finally, take a stroll along NW Central Drive to enjoy browsing the 30+ vendors at the Holiday Market. It’s a great opportunity to shop small and local and get a jump on holiday shopping!

If you see anything concerning during the events, please report it to an event volunteer who can be identified by their yellow safety vests.

Photos with Santa Claus

Visit Santa Claus during the Bethany Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market to share wishlists and take a free photo!

Expectations and Rules:

Santa will be arriving to his tent for photos right after the tree lighting countdown. He will be taking photos with kids and families until 8 PM.
A photographer will not be provided. Families are responsible for bringing their own mobile devices or cameras to capture a photo with Santa.
Please have phones or cameras ready and everyone in the group present and ready prior to reaching the front of the line. This helps to ensure the line moves continuously giving Santa a chance to meet everyone.
Photos with Santa is open to all ages and people. Individuals and groups alike are welcome to come take a photo with Santa.

Live Performances by Local Youth

We’re excited to continue the tradition of welcoming youth from nearby schools to perform at our annual tree lighting event, featuring the Oregon Repertory Singers Children’s Choir, Findley Elementary, Stoller Middle School, Westview Choir, and Westview Jazz Band!

Bethany Village is located in the Bethany neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, and can be conveniently accessed via Highway 26.

For those driving, we offer free street and lot parking.

If you’re traveling to Bethany Village by public transportation, the TriMet bus routes 47 and 67 stop right across the street from us.
